Tying Flies For Fishing

   

  Fly Tying 101
  – This is class covers the tying of 10 of the most popular and effective flies that are fished today. Working thru these flies teaches you all of the basic techniques required to successfully tie the majority of the styles you will use in a lifetime of fly fishing.  The flies vary from standards such as the gold ribbed hare’s ear and other nymphs, thru woolly worms and woolly buggers, and on to streamers.  Each fly that is tied takes you one step further along the path to becoming a proficient tier.

   

  Fly Tying 102
  – Nymphs - This class covers how to tie various nymphs that are used through out the world to catch a wide variety of fish.  You will learn to tie multiple styles of nymphs with a variety of materials.  Each nymph is selected so that you can learn a new tying technique and use of material with each new fly.  Some of the nymphs covered are the Montana Stone, Prince Nymph, and Bitch Creek Nymph for stone flies.  We also cover Marabou Damsels, Mohair Leeches, and lake Dragons for the large foods that fish eat. This course adds in Caddis nymphs of both free swimming and case dwelling species.

   

  Fly Tying 103

   - Dry Flies – This course covers the tying of many of today’s favorite dry flys.  The course includes tying the Parachute Adams, Stimulator, Elk Hair Caddis, and several dry flies that every fisherman should know and have in his fly wallets.  Each fly is selected to teach you a new method and use of materials.  The techniques taught for this class are intended to speed up your tying abilities and increase the look and life expectancy of the flies you are tying.

   

  Fly Tying 104
  – Streamers – This course is specifically set up to cover the variety of streamers that are most commonly used by fly fishermen to catch fish around the world.  This course will take you thru a step by step learning process that will enable you to tie any streamer that you may desire with ease.  By the end of the course you will have a fuller understanding of what makes a good streamer, how to tie them, and how to make sure they last thru multiple fish.

   

  Fly Tying 105
  – Midges - This course covers the tying of the most effective midge imitations that are used today. This class covers dry flies, emerger’s, and nymphs for these ever present and critically important bugs.   This course is a great place to begin if you want to learn to successfully tie small flies with ease.  During this course you will learn a variety of tying techniques and the use of a variety of creative materials to produce beautiful and effective flies that will trout all year long. 

   

  Fly Tying 106
  – Steelhead and Salmon Flies – This course covers the tying of, and variations on the 10 most popular Salmon and Steelhead flies. This course covers everything from the Green Butt Skunk and Wooly Worms to various streamers, shrimp imitations and Spey Flies that look good enough to eat. If you are a die hard Salmon or Steelhead fisherman and have decided to take the step towards tying
your own flies then this class is a great starter on your path to consistant fishing success.

   

  Fly Tying 107
  – Customized Tying Courses – If you have a specific fly or a series of flies that you want to tie.  I will customize a course that will provide you with the skill sets and knowledge you need to successfully tie perfect imitations that will catch fish for you year round.  This course allows you to mix and match your desired flies to fill in the gaps In your tying knowledge.
